About Me

Hello, my name is Claire and I have been a Massage Therapist since 2015. I initially trained with Richdale’s Institute at Hammersmith Hospital and began my career at Neals Yard Therapy Rooms, before joining the luxury cruise liner Holland & America as a Spa Therapist. Engaging with a wide range of clientele onboard gave me experience in treating various conditions such as Arthritis, Fibromyalgia and Multiple Sclerosis. My passion for Massage Therapy increased as I saw how my treatments provided relief for people experiencing all kinds of physical and emotional stress, and helping people felt like something I was born to do. After my time on the ships, I gained employment with Facegym and underwent further training working with facial anatomy at a deeper level. I was amazed at how many people held tension around the jaw. I began educating myself further on the TMJ (temporal-mandibular joint) and facial tension, before training with TMJ Massage Therapies to work specifically with the jaw and learn how to apply myofascial release to the jaw, using intra-oral techniques to release fascial restrictions and muscle tension inside of the mouth.

I set up Massage on the Mind in 2021, and now specialise in TMJ Dysfunction, providing facial and body massage treatments in London and Kent.

As my knowledge and understanding of the human body has deepened, I work intuitively and am interested in how our health is affected by our emotions which become stored in the body. After some emotional turbulence in my personal life which caused Alopecia, I engaged further with holistic practices and sought counselling which I found to be a therapeutic experience.  I wished to help others with the same kindness and compassion offered to me, and as the jaw and the hips are known as the garbage points of the body holding onto our suppressed emotions, it feels natural for me to progress into talking therapies. I am studying an MSc in Therapeutic Counselling at University of Greenwich and will be graduating in 2025 as an Integrative Therapist.

I don’t really consider my work as a job, it is a passion which aligns with my values and provides meaning to myself and others. I always enjoy learning new things in all areas my life and like to keep busy, entertaining myself with choir practice, conscious dance, travel, food and adventure.
